Scott is the Chief Investment Officer of Ravenwood Capital Management, a value-oriented fund that he co-founded in 2015. Scott has a deep experience in the small-cap universe and is an expert at using the Freedom of Information Act to learn more about his investments. Before launching his fund, Scott served in the U.S. Infantry for twelve years, including two tours in Iraq.
Scott, thank you for your service. Do you think your military background has helped you in the microcap world? And if so, how has it affected your investing style?
My pleasure, and thank you, Edwin! Experiences vary, but mine was a positive one. I was surrounded by amazing people and we laughed a ton. I still hang out with, and talk to, many of the people I served with. I think the experience helped me with regard to investing in many ways.
